Culture West Midlands is the Regional Cultural Consortium for the West Midlands. It represents the arts, sports, heritage, tourism, creative industries, museums, archives and libraries across the West Midlands region.

Culture West Midlands required a complete review of their website - internal processes, content management system, and user attitudes.

Reviewing the site

The review of the site consisted of the following steps:

• Review the back-end: the site was content managed, so both the software - and the internal processes - were reviewed.
• Survey the users: a web survey was set up in order to measure user satisfaction with the site and to identify areas to be updated.
• Review the current site: a full review of the current site’s usability, accessibility, search engine success, and partner and stakeholder sites was carried out, and all results written up in a 100+ page document.
• Proposals for future developments: finally, proposals for the future development of the site were made, including an outline timeline and rough estimate costs. Where possible, suppliers were suggested.

Some of the outcomes of the site review will now be taken forward by Culture West Midlands.
