I’m a writer and a web developer.
Some people say you shouldn’t define yourself by your job, but in this case it seems apt. As a writer I’ve been a stand-up comedian, I’ve written for the pharmaceutical industry (as a technical author and doing the more creative stuff) and I’ve written for the public sector. As a web developer I specialise in WordPress – building themes, building sites, building plugins.
I think it’s a good combination. I bring a writer’s eye for detail and focus on content to building sites and plugins; I bring a developer’s technical understanding and general geekiness to writing, helping me simplify difficult things.
I do other stuff as well. Tweet incessently. Run occassionaly. Doodle rude things on my desk blotter. That kind of stuff.
I like cats.
